I've had characters do the opposite to me more often than not. I begin a short story, knowing exactly what a need a character to do, and find, perhaps the next day, that that character is creeping about looking for a way to become the mc in a major motion picture movie and needs me to just drop everything and pen the screenplay. I actually have two characters in Choices Meant for Gods trilogy who wish to have their own spin-off novels. Now when are we supposed to have time for such things?
