Here's a little video showing the water tree my son, Alex, helped build aboard the USS Carl Vinson to help bring water to the people of Haiti after the earthquake one year ago.
Warning: Adjust your volume. It gets a little loud towards the end of the video. Thanks.

How very awesome!!! You should be so proud of your son, as I am sure that you are. Too bad more people don't see all the work these guys do!
Thanks, everyone, and yes, I am very proud of him. He is home and in the Navy Reserves, and continues to make me proud. I'm glad YouTube and the US Navy post these videos so people can see the good they do. There are quite a few more, but this one is the most important because my son and his division devised this water tree so they could fill the water containers faster and get them to the people. The USS Carl Vinson has the capability to make 400,000 gallons of potable water per day from sea water. Being an aircraft carrier, they were a floating airport to assist in bringing supplies to the people had a surgical wing to take care of the injured until the USS Comfort arrived. It's hard to believe it's been a year since that happened. I'm so glad my son had that experience and as hard as it was for me to go through here at home, I wouldn't change a thing.
Laura :)
